How Can severe Vertigo And Tinnitus Be Treated?

I developed Vertigo last Sunday, with no prior symptoms. It improved by Thursday, Friday, but returned today worse than last week. I was 80 on Monday. I take a number of meds - nothing new orr different. My b/p was 132/82. I have NO other symptoms. Just the feeling I just got off an amusement. I have slight tinnitus. I have never, never ha it before. I am in the process of changing primary doctors. Can I wait until Monday to see one?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The most common cause is inner ear disturbances with the vestibulocochlear system and other lesions of the brain are less prior in occurrence.

Treatment focus on the identification of the underlying neurology and hence treat accordingly.

Primary work up with audiogram and later MRI brain are a key guiding value-added evaluation for your case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
